The simultaneity of opposites is something that has always fascinated me, specifically light and darkness. As a child I wanted to create a flashlight that reproduced darkness, I have always been attracted by opposites and the way in which we mentally represent them, as fullblown- empty, inner-external, life-death, freedom- prison, light-shadow. Everything is dual but coexists in the same space, one thing cannot exist without the other.
