Science and art have traditionally been thought of as polar opposites on the spectrum of human creativity. Yet, science fiction aside, there are many cases where science has inspired or influenced artistic activity. One of the clearest and most documented cases of this is the relationship between Etienne-Jules Marey’s scientific and avant-garde activities at the beginning of the 20th Century.
