These days, I give two very different lectures at scientific meetings. One describes the research that I have pursued for many years: the control of intracellular calcium concentration in cardiac muscle (Eisner, 2014). The other is a more recent interest, the issue of the scientific “reproducibility crisis” (Eisner, 2018a). Writing this article makes me reflect on the relationship between these two topics.
